  • Butter or olive oil 4 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Pepper 1 tsp
  • Thyme springs 1 tbsp
  • Smoked paprika1 tsp
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Thyme for garnish
  • Water 1 cup

Instructions

  1. How to make Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes First, evenly slice the potatoes crosswise toward the bottom about 1 cm apart. Make sure to not cut all the way through the potato!
  2. Mix herb butter or oil Next, mix the butter or oil, salt, and herbs in a small bowl. Once the mixture is ready, use a brush to douse the potato with herb mixture.
  3. Prepare Instant Pot When the potatoes are ready, pour water into the inner pot of your Instant Pot and then place a trivet on the bottom. Finally, place the potatoes on top of the tivet.
  4. Pressure cook Close the lid, seal the vent, and then pressure cook for 12 minutes followed by a natural release of pressure.
  5. Brush potatoes again Once done remove the potatoes and brush them with oil and herbs again.
  6. Air fry Next place the potatoes into your Air Fryer’s basket and cook at 180 C or 356 F for another 10 minutes.
  7. Garnish and serve Once done, carefully remove the potatoes from the air fryer, place on a plate, and garnish with freshly grated parmesan cheese and thyme.
  8. Alternate air fryer only method If you want to skip the Instant Pot, you can. When you use the air fryer, cook it for 20 minutes at the same temperature for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  9. How to make Baked Hasselback Potatoes If you prefer to bake the hasselback potatoes, follow these steps.

  16. Alternative baking only method If you just want to bake the potatoes, you can easily. Just increase the baking time from 10 minutes to 20 minutes.

Notes

  • You can skip the Instant Pot when air frying by cooking potatoes at 180 C for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • For baking only method, increase bake time to 20 minutes instead of 10 after Instant Pot step.
