Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 2 Black Tea Bags (or 2 tsp loose leaf tea)
  • 2 cups Water (for steeping tea)
  • 2 cups Water (for mango puree)

Mango Puree

  • 1 Ripe Mango (or frozen mango cubes), diced
  • 2 tbsp Honey

Serving

  • Ice cubes
  • Mango slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Steep the Tea: Boil 2 cups of water and pour it into a large pitcher. Add the black tea bags or loose leaf tea and steep for about 10 minutes to extract a robust tea base.
  2. Prepare Mango Puree: In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of water with the diced mango. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes. Use a spoon or masher to mash the mango, creating a smooth puree.
  3. Combine and Sweeten: Strain the mango mixture into the pitcher with the steeped tea, removing any solids. Stir in 2 tablespoons of honey until well dissolved.
  4. Chill and Serve: Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate if desired. Serve the mango iced tea over ice cubes, garnished with fresh mango slices for a vibrant presentation.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of honey based on your preferred sweetness level.
  • For a more intense mango flavor, use ripe fresh mangoes rather than frozen.
  • To make it vegan, substitute honey with agave syrup or maple syrup.
  • This iced tea is best served chilled and consumed within 24 hours for optimal freshness.
