Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound chorizo sausage (cooked and crumbled)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa (or picante sauce)
  • 1 lime (juiced)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 4 oz can chopped mild green chilies (well-drained)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese (freshly shredded)
  • 1/4 cup green onions (diced)
  • 8 flour tortillas (burrito-sized)

Instructions

  1. Mix cream cheese and sour cream: Beat together cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Add salsa, lime juice, and taco seasoning, then blend to combine.
  2. Add remaining ingredients: Stir in cheese, green onions, green chiles, and cooked sausage. Mix well.
  3. Assemble tortillas: On each tortilla, spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture, leaving a 1/4-inch border on one side. Starting on the opposite end, tightly roll up the tortilla with the filling inside.
  4. Cut into pinwheels: Turn the roll-up where the seam is face-down and slice into pinwheels that are 1/2-inch thick.
  5. Chill before serving: Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Refrigerating the pinwheels before serving helps them hold their shape and enhances the flavors.
