  • 1 cup barbecue sauce

  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the brisket with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried thyme.
  3. Sear the brisket in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Remove the brisket from the skillet and place it in the slow cooker.
  5. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  6. Pour in the beef broth, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
  7. Pour the onion and sauce mixture over the brisket in the slow cooker.
  8. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  9. Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing against the grain.
