This Spiced Pumpkin Tiramisu is a creamy, autumn-inspired layered dessert featuring rich pumpkin custard, spiced mascarpone cream, and espresso-soaked savoiardi, chilled to perfection for a delightful holiday treat.

Pumpkin Custard

  • ½ cup pumpkin purée
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Spiced Mascarpone Cream

  • 2 cups heavy cream (cold)
  • ⅜ cup powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1½ teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese (cold)

Assembly

  • 32 savoiardi
  • 1¼ cups espresso
  • 1¼ cups pumpkin cream liqueur
  • cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Pumpkin Custard In a medium saucepan, combine pumpkin, sugar, cornstarch, pumpkin pie spice, and milk.
  2. Cook and stir over medium heat until until thickened, about 12-14 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Pour into a clean glass bowl.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap, making sure it touches the top of the custard.
  7. Refrigerate.
  8. Spiced Mascarpone Cream In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, or in a large bowl with a hand mixer fitter with the whisk attachment, combine cream, powdered sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla.
  9. Whisk on low speed until ingredients are combined.
  10. Beat Increase speed to high and beat to medium peaks.
  11. Beat in mascarpone. Set aside.
  12. Assembly Mix together espresso and pumpkin liqueur.
  13. Dip the savoiardi, one at a time, into mixture. Flip over to ensure they are soaked through but not falling apart.
  14. Place in the bottom of a deep 9-inch x 13-inch dish.
  15. Top with half the pumpkin custard.
  16. Spread with half the mascarpone cream.
  17. Dip remaining savoiardi and place them on top of mascarpone.
  18. Top with remaining custard.
  19. Spoon remaining mascarpone into a piping bag fitted with desired tip.
  20. Pipe over the entire top.
  21. Sift cocoa over top to finish.
  22. Refrigerate for 4-6 hours, or overnight before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the plastic wrap touches the top of the custard to prevent a skin from forming.
  • Do not soak the savoiardi too long to avoid them falling apart.
  • Refrigerate the assembled tiramisu for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor and texture.
