Instructions

  1. Make Cold Brew: Combine the coffee grounds with cold water in a large pitcher. Cover with a kitchen towel, and let sit overnight (or for 12 hours) at room temperature to steep and extract flavors.
  2. Strain Cold Brew: Line a fine mesh strainer with a coffee filter, cheesecloth, or nut milk bag and place it over a large bowl. Slowly pour the cold brew through the strainer to filter out coffee grounds. Repeat this process twice for a clear brew, gently swirling the liquid to speed draining if needed. Transfer the strained cold brew into a sealable container and refrigerate.
  3. Make Vanilla Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Heat over high heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Turn off heat and add the split vanilla bean to infuse flavor. Let steep for 2 hours, then strain into a mason jar and store in the refrigerator.
