  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 lbs potatoes (peeled and chopped)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup milk (or cream)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil potatoes: Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15–20 minutes. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook beef: Cook ground beef in a large skillet until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Cook vegetables and season: Add onion, garlic, and carrots to beef. Cook until softened. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer mixture: Add peas and corn, simmer 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Assemble pie: Transfer beef mixture to baking dish. Spread mashed potatoes evenly on top. Sprinkle with cheese if desired.
  7. Bake and rest: Bake 20–25 minutes until top is golden and slightly crispy. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
