  • 500 g chicken mince
  • 12 potatoes or 100150g ready-made fries
  • ½ lemon juiced
  • ½ cup tzatziki 120g
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes 75g, chopped
  • ½ cup cucumber 75g, chopped
  • 1 red onion diced
  • 8 mini tortillas
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare fries: If you choose to cook your own fries for the Chicken Gyros Smash Tacos, start by peeling and slicing a potato into thin, even slices, then cut each slice into skinny fries.
  2. Soak fries: Soak the fries in cold ice water for a few minutes to remove excess starch. After soaking, pat the fries dry with a kitchen towel, then toss them in a bowl with a bit of oil, salt, and paprika.
  3. Cook fries: Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (about 400°F) and spread the fries in a single layer in the basket. Cook for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Mix chicken: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken mince with thyme, cumin, marjoram, the juice of half lemon and garlic salt. Mix thoroughly until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.
  5. Add coriander: Add the chopped fresh coriander to the gyros smash tacos mixture and mix again until everything is well combined.
  6. Prepare tortillas: Lay out the mini tortillas and spoon about 1 tablespoon of the chicken mixture onto each one. Press down firmly to spread the mixture evenly across the surface of the tortilla.
