Batter

  • 1/2 cup Rice Flour (Can be substituted with cornflour.)
  • 2 pieces Green Chilies (sliced) (Adjust to preference.)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Coriander (chopped)
  • to taste Seasonings (Includes Salt, Red Chili Powder, Crushed Chilies, Carom Seeds, Turmeric Powder, Cumin, and Coriander.)

Instructions

  1. Preparation Steps In a mixing bowl, combine boneless white fish with salt, minced ginger, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Make the Batter In a separate bowl, whisk together gram flour, rice flour, sliced green chilies, chopped fresh coriander, and seasonings. Gradually add water to form a thick batter.
  3. Heat Oil In a deep frying pan, heat oil to 175-180 °C (350-360 °F). Test with a small amount of batter.
  4. Fry Pakoras Dip marinated fish pieces into the batter and fry them for about 2 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Drain and Serve Remove the pakoras from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a wire rack. Sprinkle with chaat masala if desired.
